Lynne Slim, RDH, MS is the periodontal therapy columnist for RDH magazine and an award-winning dental author who has published extensively in dental/dental hygiene journals including Dental Economics. In 2003, Lynne founded Periocdent, LLC, a dental practice management company that specializes in the incorporation of non-surgical periodontal therapy into the hygiene department of the general dental practice. Lynne coaches dental hygienists, dental assistants and dentists in various assisting/ hygiene initiatives. Lynne is also the owner and moderator of the periotherapist yahoo group: www.yahoogroups.com/group/periotherapist

As a key opinion leader in the dental industry and member of the RDH magazine advisory committee, Lynne is frequently asked to review new dental products and equipment and write product reviews. She participates in product development and is consulted about consumer/RDH product awareness. Lynne welcomes speaking engagements on the topic of nonsurgical periodontal therapy and evidence-based decision making in dentistry.

Lynne practiced as a dental assistant before studying dental hygiene at Fones School of Dental Hygiene, University of Bridgepost and Old Dominion University where she completed a B.S. and M.S. degree in dental hygiene. Lynne has practiced dental hygiene for about 20 years and she has also taught dental hygiene for about 10 years at private and public universities and colleges in Georgia and New Jersey.
